Don't forget to check a reel's retrieval rate in the shop either. It's not much, but it will add a little extra tension and keep some of those runners on the line long enough for them to stop charging. If you're fishing from the shore you can try turning your body and walking backwards while reeling when this starts to happen. Maybe the % chance of it happening should reduce like 1%- 10% for every minute spent battling the fish? Or a better "hooking" mechanism/measurement could ensure that if your fish is really hooked, you won't lose it to a somewhat BS concept. It's kinda crap to lose a fish to "low line tension" after that long. Hooks don't magically come un-swallowed or un-done if it's REALLY in there (which I'm sure it would be after many minutes of fighting). You always have time to catch up the slack as they dart around. In fact every time they hit the end of said leash, that hook digs in more. When a fish is hooked IRL, they can charge toward you and away and they're still on a leash. It's beyond disappointing (honestly, no matter how "realistic" just not fun gameplay) to lose a fish after 10+ minutes of "fighting" - which is mostly just mindless spamming of LMB/RMB and trying to move L to R a bit to counter charges - then for just like 1-3 seconds you can't turn 180 degrees fast enough and the fish is gone? THAT, actually, is not very realistic. This has been happening to me a lot lately, as I'm just starting to catch larger fish. ![]() How the hell am I supposed to reel these larger fish in when the fight can go from 5 minutes, to 50 minutes and all it takes is 3 seconds to lose the thing? And in most of these fights they charge at some point. Once its set Ive lost a couple due to broken lines as the line cant withstand their sudden turnaround at the speed they are moving, but never through low line tension. You feel it sometimes and think "Oh that one got off somehow" then the line tightnes and fighting resumes. After 10 minutes of fighting a fish I shouldnt lose it to low line tension in 3 seconds because I simply cannot keep up with his charging speed with my reel. Now there is no way that hook isnt sunk into him good and proper. I then get a bit of a win and start reeling him in, get him in to 40m.įor all of 3 seconds tops the guages flash blue. He charges round like an idiot for a good 5-10 minutes, spooling me out from 30m to 56m. ![]() ![]() ![]() Yeah, this takes a while, but hey, it's a siege :P. the one that recharges every second turn rather than being one-shot) you can also advance, fire a few shots, then retreat to heal up and repeat that until the enemy goes down. Maybe put a cheap, disposable unit ahead that'll lure some of their archers forward to where your siege weapons can target them. Over the next few turns you can create a breach, then you advance your forces into position. Slowly creep your long-ranged siege engines forward until they can start targeting the wall but are still safely out of reach of any return fire. If you can find a stone giant somewhere, hang on to them.they're basically living (healing!) trebuchets that pack a nice punch in melee too, and they'll win sieges for you all by themselves. Siege weapons help as well (if you're a Dreadnought, Cannons are basically the ultimate siege assault tool, but even other classes will get a lot of mileage out of Trebuchets). You need a significant superiority either in sheer numbers or in quality to take over a walled city. There's an optional co-op revival setting that allows players to revitalize their buddy within a time limit. If one partner dies, the game ends and both partners go back to the previous checkpoint. It's an odd narrative presentation that starts to feel awkward at various points. However, many of the game's NPC's will solely address Isaac, many times completely disregarding Carver's existence. Isaac and John will frequently exchange dialogue throughout the co-op campaign. John Carver, a character that originally debuted in a YouTube short last year. While playing online co-op, the host plays as Isaac Clarke, while the client plays as Sgt. It should be noted that Dead Space 3's narrative unfolds the same, regardless of whether it's played solo or with a partner. However, Dead Space 3's co-op campaign isn't completely bereft of tension and features many adrenaline-pumping moments that help set it apart from its well-designed, single-player counterpart. As I played through co-op with Shacknews' Jeff Mattas, I did, in fact, notice that some of the campaign's more intense moments do feel compromised with a partner. This is a horror franchise that's been built on facing grisly creations in claustrophobic, tight spaces-not typically an experience that's meant to be shared.
